A light-weight design with a small parcel of land in mind, this house features large floor to ceiling glazing, which frames views of the back yard whilst giving the house a light and transparent feel. Careful consideration was given to the layout to maximize the usable floor space on a small suburban site. This design incorporates light weight cladding to break up the facades and soften the appearance of the parapet roofs. While this design was developed as a three bedroom home, the floor plan can easily expand to accommodate a fourth bedroom. The result is a contemporary ‘box’ designed to make the most of a small suburban site. The external cladding system has been designed to accommodate varying materials allowing the building to sit comfortably in any setting.
